Civic Pride Time.

I come from the town of Greek chili, and German Goetta. Both of which are unavailable in Greece or Germany, only in Cincinnati.

What is the most outlandish food that your birthplace is known for?

Blutwurst or blood sausage is a good candidate. Some might say sauerkraut. But some would be wrong. At a lot of really tradional restaurants, one can order creepy shit, like cow tongue or liver.

Before California Cuisine and before stupid Jamba Juice, Eugene had Lu-lu's Smoothies.

Lu-lu had a canopy that she would set up inside the Country Fair back when the Grateful Dead still played there every year. The smoothies weren't frozen or even really blended...just delicious hippie food.

Eugene THINKS it's the birthplace of such things as granola, wheatgrass & tofu, but it's wrong.

I think getting Cookie Puss for my birthday might just be tops for me. If you don't know what Carvel is, check it out:
