President's Day

Who else is at work today? Traffic was way light...and my inbox wasn't overflowing. Apparently the birthdays of some old presidents is not worthy of a day off at my office. So I may or may not totally slack off today in protest. But I actually have a lot to do..........so maybe I'll be a good little worker bee.

Topic: Was it a great Sunday or what?

There were five people on the bus today. Normally all the seats are taken and ten people stand.

I never get the minor holidays off, Architecture is the anti vacation profession. One year I didn't get Friday off after Thanksgiving. I protested by not doing any work that day and just pouted instead.

my work is also not big on celebrating presidential birthdays.

plus, I never get the friday after thanksgiving off... nobody in my office works it, but we also don't get paid, it's not really an issue for the folks who make the rules.

but i'm not whining, I can get OT when I'm around here on the weekends, like yesterday.

so although yesterday was a great sunday, it was more because of how much I finally checked off my list of procrastination. well that, and acting in complete denial that I had to work today.

Normally I wouldn't mind having to work on a minor holiday because the office has a lighter feel to it and I can get a good chunk of work done without harassing phone calls from firms that did get off. But I know this is the last day of sun for a few days and so it sucks to be inside.

On the upside, I was one of only two bikers on the hawthorne this morning instead of the normal 500. My fingers are still seriously frozen though, so maybe I didn't win afterall.

We self-employed folk never get the holidays off...major or minor. That is, unless we have run out of projects. Then every day is a holiday.
Sort of.
Well, not really.
Feast or famine as it were, gotta love it. :-)

I work at the Red Cross, and the blood business don't take noooo stinkin days off.

Presidents do wonderful things. The most recent presidential administration decided to propose as part of the new budget proposal to completely cut the Americorps program that I was a part of from 1997 - 1998, AmeriCorps NCCC. alright, so I'm really pissed about that, and you guys are probably like,"Whatevs Danimal."

Not all is gloom and doom, though. Sun River kicked butt this past weekend. Kyle impersonated a monkey throwing poo (Without the poo, of course.) Bro-Man was in love 8 times, and that's being conservative. T-Unit completely ruined the olympics for everyone on Saturday when he announced,"Bode doesn't win, Daniel! I checked the internet this morning before I left Hillsboro this morning!" He failed to notice the other six people watching as well. It was a fun weekend. I wish that I was a snow bunny. Alas, I had some memories from the not so dinstant past to get me through the day.

How could you forget my angry chimp impersonation?

Bro-man also killed me for my humorous cock block. I feared for my life, or really I feared for the safety of my shins.
