Raspberry Beret-Prince
"I wouldn't change a stroke, 'cause baby I'm the most"

Shut 'Em Down-Public Enemy
"I like Nike, but wait a minute."
PE was born to blow down doors.
Chuck was my conscience as I grew up in the mean streets and helped me keep it real.

Inside Game-Royal Trux
Sometimes being addicted to heroin can break up even the most beautiful couples.

Captain's Dead-Guided By Voices
Can it get any more rocking than Robert Pollard? I submit that it can not.
Imagine if the Who never sucked and pitched a no hitter in college. That's Bob.

Kashmir-Led Zeppelin
I just have to say I lucked out, and my shuffled music makes me look like the kind of guy every girl wants to be with.
Say the word and I'm there for you baby.

decible sing 2-dooey decible
My brother may have made this song. I don't know.

Murphey Bed-Get Him Eat Him
My brother definitely made this song. With some other dudes. This is his main band, the one signed to Absolutely Kosher, off a tour EP.

Radio, Radio-Elvis Costello
"I want to bite the hand that feeds me"
I love the organ, but I can't figure out what he uses to make that hissing noise.

Happy End's 10th track off of Kazemachi Roman (itunes doesn't speak Japanese)
Yes, you actually do know this band, a song got cribbed for "Lost In Translation". Why you haven't seached out the whole album yet baffles the hell out of me.

Spirit Ditties Of No Tone-Deerhoof
Yay!

I only have a few albums loaded on my MP3/cell. As for PE...they belongto me; you can't listen to them! Fear of a Black Planet only left my tape deck in 11th grade for the occasional Doors drunkfest.

TV Themes - Sanford and Son
Gotta have your "walkin' music"

Waitin' For the DJ - Talib Kwali
A more mainstream MC with street cred and something to say. I like that there is always something irrythmic about his rhymes...like looking at rhythm from another perspective

Lord Only Knows - Beck
Beck is my generation's James Brown...yes I said it.

Oh Word? - Beastie Boys
The best thing about the Beasties is that they matured as their fans matured....kept them relevant to real fans.

Buggin' Out - A Tribe Called Quest
"The Abstract, orginal" Along with De La, group that I wish was frozen in time...a snow globe that I control. Native tongues!

I only carry my player around with me in the winter, and don't usually have it on shuffle. But quickly trying to remember what's on it....

Big Pimpin’ – Tha Dogg Pound
(the one from Above The Rim)
"I rock them mighty hardy, like la-di da-di, I got pimp bones in my body"

Run to the Hills - Iron Maiden
Hallowed Be Thy Name is their best, but this is a good quick fix.

What They Do - The Roots
One of the few rap tracks I know all the words to. I miss rap from the early 90s. Anybody catch the VMAs? It's a very sad situation.

Crystal Ball - STYX
Most of this song sucks, but there's a cool part when it goes from the intro to the chorus:
"Crystal [dun dun] BA-AAAAALL". Guilty pleasure.

Wooden Ships - CSN
Okay, you're onto me. I'm more into classic rock than modern stuff.

I Don't Want Nobody To Give Me Nothin - James Brown
"...open up the door, HUH, I'll get it myself". I'll stick with the original.

Was that 6? I can't count.
