TAKE THE GOOD TAKE THE BAD TAKE THEM BOTH AND THERE YOU HAVE

Adam brought a good point earlier in the comments. Of course I forgot what it was, but it made me think of a greater point. On one hand you got crimes, on the other hand you got morals. Take my list of “hypothetical” acts below, copy and paste them into the comments, and arrange them from most heinous to least in order of moral outrage that the act fills you with.

-BUILDING A NUCLEAR REACTOR IN YOUR GARAGE
-INTENTIONALLY KILLING A SQUIRREL
-DRIVING AFTER 3 BEERS
-HOOKING UP WITH A FAT GIRL YOU WILL NEVER TALK TO AGAIN
-MAKING FUN OF OLD PEOPLE TO THEIR FACE ENOUGH TO MAKE THEM CRY
-STEALING MONEY FROM RETARDED PEOPLE
-FIXING PROFESSIONAL SPORTING EVENTS IN ORDER TO GAMBLE ON THEM LEGALLY AND PAYING TAXES ON YOUR WINNINGS

Okay?
Now, copy them again and put them in order of what you feel deserves the most jail time.

I will be the first of the 2 or 3 that will participate. These are hard to discern without context. For instance, is this nuclear reactor being subsidized by tax payers or part of a larger energy plan that diverts monies into research for new technologies...or are the retarded and old people assholes? A lot of questions!

Moral Outrage:
-BUILDING A NUCLEAR REACTOR IN YOUR GARAGE
-STEALING MONEY FROM RETARDED PEOPLE
-MAKING FUN OF OLD PEOPLE TO THEIR FACE ENOUGH TO MAKE THEM CRY
-INTENTIONALLY KILLING A SQUIRREL
-FIXING PROFESSIONAL SPORTING EVENTS IN ORDER TO GAMBLE ON THEM LEGALLY AND PAYING TAXES ON YOUR WINNINGS
-DRIVING AFTER 3 BEERS
-HOOKING UP WITH A FAT GIRL YOU WILL NEVER TALK TO AGAIN

Longest Sentence:
-BUILDING A NUCLEAR REACTOR IN YOUR GARAGE (Longish)
-STEALING MONEY FROM RETARDED PEOPLE (Mediumish)
-FIXING PROFESSIONAL SPORTING EVENTS IN ORDER TO GAMBLE ON THEM LEGALLY AND PAYING TAXES ON YOUR WINNINGS (Mediumish)
-DRIVING AFTER 3 BEERS (Shortish)
NO OTHERS SHOULD BE CRIMES.

I'm making a statement here. Let it be known that the general public is completely ill informed and clueless about nuclear energy. If it weren't for all of the idiots, we would be using a very clean and practically limitless supply for our power.

Hmm...I am not ill-informed nore clueless about nuclear energy and I don't think it is the best idea, but not absolutely out of the question. You do know that there has been plenty of opportunity for the business community to get into the nuclear business. Why did this not happen on a large scale? The answer to this is just one of the issues with nuclear energy, the economics of it. Do you like the Yucca Mountain plan? If so, have you seen the seismic issues with that location? If not, where should the material be stored, your state/county? How is this material transported and where do these transportation routes run? I would be careful before making and absolute statement about a topic that is not absolute, and needs thoughtful debate.

Additionally, if Reagan had not gutted Carter's energy initiatives, such as investment in solar research and legislation improving fuel efficiency in cars, the country would not be in the current perdicament. The peanut farmer was right.
